MOREE MURAL PROJECT

Following the success of the ‘Creating Space for Recovery’ Workshops, Council is thrilled to partner with Jule Jarner to deliver nine workshops aimed at engaging the youth of the Moree Plains.

This initiative offers a creative platform for the youth to express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences through the collaborative creation of a mural.

The workshops will be guided by Jule Jarner, who will actively listen to, engage with and support the participants as they work together to design a unique, colourful and positive mural.

The artwork will complement the existing murals across Moree, contributing to the town’s vibrant art scene.

Participants will explore important themes, how these can be expressed through art, and what messages they would like their mural to convey. Through their artworks, thoughtful discussions, and collaborative decision-making, a final mural concept will emerge.

This mural is part of the laneway revitalisation efforts under the RICOCHET project, which aims to transform underused spaces through public art. The project will run from 5 May to 30 June 2025.

We look forward to seeing the creative and inspiring works the participants produce.
